Lighting Up Land and Sea in Key West

The holiday season always rushes by, and it seems like the Thanksgiving leftovers are barely finished off before winter is here. But while the weather up north is frightful, the Key West climate’s delightful, and since we will never have any snow, put on your shorts and watch our Christmas lights glow.

Another Southernmost Holiday Season

Balmy tropical breezes and uncrowded streets mark the entry of November, and with the departure of our bike-riding Halloween zombies, as the Fantasy Fest confetti is beginning to settle, Key West swings into holiday mode and the run-up to a Thanksgiving leap into a packed island holiday calendar.

Party Time in Paradise

Time flies when you’re having fun—cliché but so apropos when living on Key West time, and now here we are spooling up for the traditional lift off of another hectic holiday season with the legendary Key West Fantasy Fest 2023 edition: Uniforms and Unicorns: 200 Years of Sailing into Fantasy.

It’s 5 O’Clock Somewhere

On the first day of this month, grief broke over Key West like one of our passing thunder squalls when word came that iconic 1970’s-vintage local and beloved tropical tunesmith Jimmy Buffet had set course on his last long reach over the horizon. Key Westers will never forget the man and his music.

A Perfect 10

Running a streak hotter than Key West summer, Bascom took a 10th People’s Choice Awards win for Best Realtor. Thanks go to our great supporters whose votes put Bascom in the winner’s circle once again and also earned the Bascom Grooms Real Estate Team a nomination for Best Real Estate Office.

One for the Record Books

Looks like Key West chefs Kermit Carpenter & Paul Menta pulled it off, blending over 16 gallons of Key lime juice, 100 gallons of condensed milk, and 125lbs of graham crackers for a Key Lime pie 13.14 feet across, beating out the previous record of 12.25 feet set in 2018 up north in Brevard County.

Happy Pride Key West

Summer in Key West heats up as we move into June and the Month of Pride with cool events, fun parties, and the always eclectic Key West scene to keep the long hot days flying by. For the so-called off-season, Key West is sure hopping—a hometown where it’s hard to name a “quiet” month anymore.

Key West Homes for All

Key West has a long history of welcoming all those brave and adventurous enough to make a home on this small, remote island at the southernmost edge of the U.S. And as economic conditions change, our community comes together to ensure that homes are available to everyone.

Anniversaries All Around!

No need for an excuse to raise a frosty glass in Key West, but this month marks 24 great years for Bascom Grooms Real Estate. Since the very beginning in 1999, we have enjoyed helping our island neighbors with their Key West real estate needs and being honored with your trust and support. Thank you!

The Monroe Country ROGO: A Bicentennial Review
